Massive Advance Bookings Push Pushpa 2 Toward Record-Breaking Opening
Pushpa 2: The Rule is already making waves in the Indian box office with a massive Rs 30.92 crore in advance bookings for Day 1, setting the stage for what is expected to be a record-breaking release. With three days still left before its debut, the film, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is on track to exceed expectations.
Almost 7 lakh tickets have been sold across all formats—2D, 3D, IMAX, and 4DX—showing a strong demand. The Telugu version leads the pack, with Rs 10.57 crore in advance sales, while the Hindi version has followed closely, collecting Rs 10.14 crore. In terms of tickets sold, the Hindi version has sold 3,40,892, outpacing the Telugu version at 2,73,519, marking a significant achievement for a non-Hindi film.
While the Malayalam version is performing well, the Tamil and Kannada versions are picking up at a slower pace, especially with the ongoing weather issues in Tamil Nadu. However, with improved conditions, bookings for the Tamil version are expected to rise.
The question now is whether Pushpa 2 will surpass Kalki 2989 AD’s record of Rs 61 crore in advance bookings for Day 1. With paid premieres and a price hike in Telangana, the film might just break the Rs 100 crore barrier on Day 1.
