Netflix has just dropped an exciting new trailer for Squid Game Season 2, set to hit screens next month.
In the highly anticipated follow-up, Lee Jung-jae returns as Player 456, determined to track down the masterminds behind the deadly game. This season introduces a fresh antagonist, Player 230, played by Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P.), who cunningly manipulates fellow players, pushing them to their doom.
The official Squid Game Season 2 logline from Netflix teases: “Three years after his victory, Player 456 has put plans to move to the United States on hold and returns with a newfound resolve. Gi-hun reenters the dangerous survival game, where he faces off against a new batch of desperate participants, all chasing the 45.6 billion won prize.”
Returning to the director’s chair is Hwang Dong-hyuk, whose historic win at the 74th Primetime Emmys® as the first Asian to take home Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series has cemented his legacy. Hwang also serves as the writer and producer for the new season.
The series will bring back fan favorites like Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), Wi Ha-joon as Hwang Jun-ho, and Lee Byung-hun as the ominous Front Man, Hwang In-ho. Gong Yoo returns as the enigmatic salesman who recruits participants for the deadly game. New faces joining the cast include Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim, Lee David, Lee Jin-wook, Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Won Ji-an, Park Gyu-young, Jeon Seok-ho, Kim Si-eun, and Oh Dal-su.
